The Theraboot Shortback is designed to treat foot and ankle flexion contractures, foot drop, internal/external hip rotation and pressure sores due to stroke, illness, trauma or immobility.  This AFO does not extend as far up the calf as the standard Theraboot, thus allowing for use with any type of Knee Orthosis.  It is designed to “float” the heel, which aids/prevents heel irritation or decubitus ulcers.  The lightweight plastic frame applies a gentle continuous counterforce to the plantar aspect of the foot for effective treatment of ankle plantar flexion contractures and foot drop.  Also included is the Rotator Bar, to control hip and leg rotation and the adjustable Toe Post to relieve pressure from bed linens, but can be positioned to the side for treatment of malleous and lateral ulcers.
